A reading of my new play, The Manor, at Seattle Rep
My new (new VERY NEW) play, The Manor, will be read aloud by human actors Sunday, June 21st at 4:00 PM at Seattle Repertory Theatre. My spirit guide Erin Kraft will direct.
The Manor is about a nursing home and memory care facility in a remote corner of Washington State where the one male resident, Gil Fletcher, stays busy keeping the beds of female co-residents warm. But questions of consent become tricky with the arrival of a new aide who challenges the home's free love policies, and trickier still when Gil begins to forget who he is. It's the Alzheimerzy sex romp you've been waiting for!
My reading is the last of six readings of new work by the Seattle Rep Writers Group that take place over two weekends in June. I have had the pleasure of hearing these plays develop over the past year, and, if you like new plays, this is a stellar batch. Come! More info here.
(I got that photo from a 2012 NY Magazine story about sex in retirement homes that you will probably need to read immediately.)
